The Pilates Barre

Located in Dallas, TX the Pilates Barre offers fifty minute classes that works your whole body. The workout is all toning and strengthening working your legs, arms and core. The equipment used is the BarreFormer it provides constant resistance allowing the body to transition easily between workouts. I started going when I was in high school and I make sure I book classes when I am in town.

The Auburn Rec Center 

This amazing facility is one of the many things I love about Auburn! It is considered the third most luxurious rec center in America. I try to go at least twice a week to get a good workout in! They have every piece of equipment you could possibly want and group fitness classes! My typical workout includes: 

  • 1 minute sprints on the treadmill with a minute break between each. I start at 7 mph and go to 8.5 mph

  • Depending on how I'm feeling ill go to the stair master and do that for about fifteen minutes alternating between slow and fast levels 

  • Next is weights! I bring my stretchy bands to do squats and abductions to tone the legs

  • Then I grab the 24 pound bar and do some squats. I also work my arms with the bar 

  • Finally its time for abs! First I use the Glute-Ham Developer machine to work my upper abs and back 

  • Next I grab a medicine ball (20 pounds or less) and use the XMark 45 Degree Ab Back Hyperextension Roman Chair. I work my back and my obliques 

  • Then I use the leg raise machine 

  • Finally I grab a mat and head to the floor to do crunches, planks and finish the workout with a good stretch 

The Tread Barre is a separate studio from the Pilates Barre but is owned but the same company. The classes offered are fifty minutes long and are half running half floor exercises. The running portion includes sprints, endurance runs and inclines on the treadmill. The floor exercises will work a section of the body with weight lifting, using resistance bands, the spring board wall, and sometimes the pilates chair. These classes are always challenging to me and push me to my limits, but I love that it is half cardio half toning and strengthening. 

Class Pass 

This is a fitness app that allows you to sign up with various studios across major cities. I use it when I am in my hometown Dallas, TX.

I do not know what I would have done without ClassPass during quarantine. Once all the studios closed the office in New York started posting workout videos to do from home!

The floating 1/3 mile  track is one of the many features that makes the facility amazing
